OpenSlabGrader
Under development

Card grading you can check.

OpenSlabGrader measures a trading card from an ordinary flatbed scan instead of eyeballing it. Every number is written down with how it was measured, so a grade can be rerun and verified by anyone.

How it works

  1. Scan. The card goes on a consumer flatbed scanner. No special hardware.
  2. Measure. The software measures what graders look at: centering, corners, edges and the cut.
  3. Record. Each measurement is saved with the scan and the method that produced it.
  4. Verify. Anyone with the saved scan can rerun the grade and get the same numbers.

Who it is for

Shops and graders

A grade with its measurements attached, not an opinion a customer has to take on trust.

Collectors

Check a card at home before buying, selling or sending it away.

Status

The first release is being prepared. The code is not yet published. This site and the repository hold the name, the license and this note until it is. English-language cards first; others as the project grows.
